Una gita in Toscana: Monteriggioni

Eccoci giunti all'ultimo post della mia mini-vacanza in Toscana. Vi porto, oggi, a Monteriggioni, dove è stato ambientato il secondo videogioco della serie di "Assassin's Creed" (se non me lo avessero detto, non lo avrei mai saputo, lo ammetto!).
Anche Monteriggioni è stata insignita della Bandiera Arancione. Si trova in provincia di Siena, sulla cima di una collina. Proprio per la sua posizione, "in mezzo al nulla" e per il modo in cui è stato costruito e attorniato da mura, mentre ci si avvicina sembra di andare verso una roccaforte: il paese è stato costruito "apposta" così e in quella posizione perchè, da li, si riusciva a controllare molto bene la zona.
Il paese è molto piccolo, c'è una sola piazza (quella principale), una chiesa e poco altro. Ma è proprio questo che da al paese un'atmosfera particolare: il fatto che sia un posto molto semplice e, nello stesso momento, pieno di storia!
Se volete, potete salire a fare una passeggiata lungo il camminamento delle mura, pagando un semplice biglietto che costa 2,00 euro (a questo link trovate tutte le informazioni ufficiali sul paese).
Vi ci vorranno veramente 5 minuti per girare tutto il paese e, a mio avviso, una cosa che va assolutamente fatta è sedersi a prendere un caffè nella piazza principale (peccato per i prezzi non esattamente economici: 1 euro a caffè) e restare seduti li tranquilli guardandovi intorno: la vita indigena vi scorrerà intorno e potrete apprezzarla fino in fondo.

Here is the last post of my mini-holiday in Tuscany. Today I bring you in Monteriggioni, the set of the second game of the series of " Assassin's Creed" (a friend of mine said it to me... I didn't know it before :D). Monteriggioni was also awarded the Orange Flag of Touring Club.
It is located in the province of Siena, on the top of a hill. Because of its location, "in the middle of nowhere" and the way in which it was built and surrounded by walls, as you approach to it, it seems to move towards a stronghold : the country was built in that way and in that position because, from that position it was easier to control the surrounding area.
The village is very small, there is only one square (the main one), a church and little else. But it is precisely this feature which gives to the town a special atmosphere: the fact that it is a very simple and, at the same time, full of story (his own, of course)!
If you want , you can go for a walk along the walkway of the walls , paying a ticket, which costs 2.00 € (< a href = " http://www.monteriggioniturismo.it/it/museo-e-camminamento.html "> this link you will find all the official information on the country).
It will take you 5 minutes (really) to walk around the country and, in my opinion, one thing that have to be absolutely done is to sit and have a coffee in the main square (prices aren't exactly cheap: 1 euro per coffee) and look around you: the indigenous life will flow around and you can enjoy it to the hilt.
