Girando Bergamo

Il 14 settembre sono stata a Bergamo. Dopo aver lasciato la valigia in ostello ed aver messo nello zaino solo l'essenziale sono partita alla scoperta di Bergamo alta, la parte storica della città.
Sono arrivata alla funicolare e ho preso il biglietto A/R per 2,5 euro. Da Piazza mercato delle scarpe, sono arrivata a Piazza vecchia, che è il centro (definiamola così) di Bergamo alta: tra questa piazza e piazza del duomo troviamo la Torre civica, il Palazzo Del Podestà, il battistero, la cappella Colleoni, la basilica di Santa Maria maggiore e, appunto, il duomo. Sono poi andata fino alla cittadella, che è ciò che rimane di una fortificazione costruita dai Visconti quando questi imposero la loro signoria su Bergamo. Volendo, per i più audaci arrampicatori, proseguendo lungo la strada al di fuori della cittadella si arriva all'orto botanico.
Poco più avanti c'è la funicolare che vi porta al castello di San Virgilio.
Da li sono poi tornata verso il "Parco delle Rimembranze", dove ci sono alcune lapidi in ricordo dei caduti e la "Rocca", che è un museo sull'Ottocento.
Io ero abbastanza stanca per via del viaggio e quindi mi sono fermata, ma ci vuole poco per girare questa piccola, ma splendida, città.

On September 14th, I went to Bergamo. After I left the bag in the hostel and I put in the backpack only the essentials I went to discover "High Bergamo", the historical part of the city.
I got to the cable car and I got the ticket A / R for 2.5 euro. From Piazza mercato delle scarpe, I came to Piazza Vecchia, which is the center of this part of Bergamo: between this square and the cathedral square there is the civic Tower, the Palazzo del Podestà, the baptistery, the Colleoni Chapel, the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and, indeed, the cathedral. Then I went up to the "cittadella"(citadel), which is what remains of a fort built by the Visconti when they imposed their rule on Bergamo. If you want, for the more daring climbers, you can continue along the road outside of town to get to the botanical garden.
A little further on there is a cable car that takes you to castle of San Virgilio.
From there I came back to the "Memorial Park", where there are several plaques in memory of the fallen and the "Rock", which is a museum about the nineteenth century.
I was pretty tired from the journey and then I stopped my visit, but it takes little to turn this small but beautiful town.
